Safety Issues in Tourism: A Systematic Review of Emerging Threats and Preventive Measures
Abstract
This study aims to systematically review safety issues in tourism, focusing on identifying the primary threats tourists face and effective preventive measures. The results of the review indicate that the greatest safety threats in tourism include environmental risks, health hazards, crime, and terrorism. In the digital era, cyber threats have also become increasingly significant. Innovative technologies, such as mobile applications that provide real-time weather and health alerts and secure infrastructure, have proven effective in reducing risks. Tourists' perception of destination safety greatly influences their travel choices, making it essential for tourism destinations to continuously strengthen their safety image. This research offers valuable insights for stakeholders in the tourism industry to develop more comprehensive and sustainable safety strategies.
